Dave Wegner's letter in the June 30 Argus Leader responding to Christopher Fisher's most excellent June 13 letter, "Abortion forced on women," was equivalent to a toy poodle taking on a 200-pound St. Bernard. Wegner uses the same worn-out, back-alley abortion argument that has been used for years. Just because abortions always have happened doesn't mean that they should be legal. If a woman chooses to put her health and life in danger by going underground, that's her problem. She will pay the consequences of her choice just like the perpetrator of any other crime.
