The Pro-Life Argument: Why Abortion Should Be Illegal
Posted: July 21st, 2011 | Author: Veronica | Filed under: Uncategorized | Comments OffThe condition of bringing life into this world brings forth would be the responsibility of nurturing your young ones into becoming good individuals. This responsibility is what often scares people the most, which makes them desperate to look for solutions that will cut them off from the whole matter permanently. In a lot of instances, mothers and fathers often fear the stigma that will be attached to them and their future child, as well as how the news of being pregnant will be taken by their elders.
In almost all cases of abortion, it is always fear that dictates people to terminate life. Fear of society, fear of discrimination, fear of taking care of a newborn at a time when they are barely able to take care of themselves. Having no courage at all to handle bringing new life into this world is what drives people to get abortion. While it is not basically our right to disrespect the choices in life of those who will choose to get abortion, it is our responsibility to educate them why abortion should not be considered a choice.
Why Abortion Should be Illegal
Man Does Not Have the Right to Kill – Undergoing abortion is basically killing the life within the womb of a woman. Not only is it unlawful, to God and even the law, but it also makes one a murderer. While those who are actually working into the legalization of abortion points out that murder can only be called such if the reason for killing is due to negligence and is tainted with malice, there is no question that what a person will be practicing when abortion is being done is killing. Every life in this world is a blessing, and no person has the right to take the life out of another living individual by his own hands.
The Child Does Not Have a Choice – As a country that respects freedom above everything else, it would be ironic to suddenly end the life of a child without giving them the right to express their choice. A child, no matter how young he or she may be in the womb of a woman is generally alive, and would have all the capability to live. Cutting them off from having the chance to fully live life is basically wrong. While people would say that an embryo naturally would not have the capability to express his or her will to live, parents and responsible adults should know how to represent and defend those who are unable to do so.
It Causes Mental Instability – Women who have undergone abortion, whether forced or voluntary, often feel a pang of regret and loss after undergoing the process. It makes for much anguish as well as sadness, wondering how their baby might have looked like if he or she had gotten the chance to grow up. Most women who have undergone abortion often admit that they regret their decision, and because most religions mark such a matter as a sin, those who have had abortion would have to endure the burden for the rest of their lives.
It Poses a Lot of Health Risks – It can be reasoned out that there are some women who have undergone surgical abortion have done so to save their lives over the baby’s, but only a few would know that it allows for a lot of complications in the future. Some women, whose bodies have already been geared to nurse and take care of a child, would end up with nothing to care for, gaining weight, and even losing confidence in self on top of feelings of regret. There are also other people who do abortions without proper qualification because of the costs, making such quite risky. Botched abortions can pose more danger in time, and can even cause sterility and other health problems. While medical professionals often know best on how to approach babies that can endanger lives of their mothers while in the womb, giving them a chance to survive, even if it will not be for a long period of time, will make for a better choice than deliberately killing a child when he or she is still in the womb.
There is Always Adoption – One does not need to kill their baby just to free themselves of the fear and responsibility that always comes with rearing such. This works best for young mothers and those who believe that they will not be able to fend for their future children. Putting babies up for adoption would be the best choice rather than going through abortion. You are not going to do something illegal, because you are not abandoning your baby without precaution. You are putting them up to be under the care of those who will be capable enough of being able to do so, leaving your hands clean of ending a life.
There is Always Support - One does not need to dwell on feelings of being neglected or alienated when they are carrying a child that they feel would not be welcome in this world. Most of the time all that people, like parents, would need is for their children to express sincerity in being sorry for bearing child out of wedlock. Your family would always be there to support you, and if you have a very conventional family, they are bound to support your every step of the way. Your true friends will also help you seek out to find ways in which you can bring forth your child into the world without having to undergo abortion. No matter what the case may be, it is always unlawful to end a life once it has come to spawn. True and genuine people will be there to support you every step of the way, so you would not have to deal with having done a crime in the future, and you will be able to live your life without any regrets.
